I am writing to let you know that there could be tenure-track natural product research positions available at the NCI for outstanding candidates through the NIH Stadtman Program I have attached a flyer with details of the program and I was hoping that you might convey this message to potential candidates in your research groups or whom you know. The Stadtman positions are advantageous and include extra resources. Candidates should apply to the chemical biology section of the Stadtman Program. I will be a member on that committee this year and our laboratory is in the market for a good candidate or two.

PhD in Organic Chemistry
You will conduct original research aimed at the design and synthesis of novel, biologically active compounds in hit discovery and lead optimization programs. We seek enthusiastic candidates with a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry with strong synthetic problem solving skills and extensive and in depth-knowledge of modern organic synthesis.
As a part of a group, you will need to plan the work objectives and contribute to guide and supervise some chemistry technicians. Excellent communication and leadership skills, a strong customer focus and an ability to work well in a team setting are required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- PhD level degree or equivalent in Synthetic Organic Chemistry
- Postdoctoral experience is strongly recommended.
- Previous experience in mentoring technical staff is a plus.
